In a recent update, Jeff Bezos the Amazon Boss, has regained his title as the world’s wealthiest individual, surpassing Elon Musk by accumulating a staggering $23 billion in 2024.

Despite selling $8.5 billion in Amazon shares, Mr Bezos retains a 9.56 percent stake as the largest shareholder.
On the other hand, Mr Musk faced a setback with a $31 billion loss, partially attributed to a judge striking down a Tesla pay package valued at up to $55.8 billion. Elon Musk, also involved with X and SpaceX, had previously claimed the top spot in May, surpassing Sir Bernard Arnault, who now holds the third position with $197 billion.
In Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote maintains his position as the continent's richest person, gaining $141 million as of March 5, 2024. Dangote's wealth is primarily tied to his 86% stake in Dangote Cement, with interests spanning sugar, salt, oil, fertilizer, and packaged food.
