The participating teams are set to know their first-round opponents in a day's time .
The 24 teams that will jostle for the prestigious title are: Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo DR, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Zambia.
The teams were pooled according to their September FIFA ranking into four pots. The pots are as follows:

The 24 teams will be drawn into six groups of four. The tournament starts in January and the final game is set to be played on February 11.
