former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, took to social media over the weekend to share a glimpse of his laid-back
In a refreshing departure from the political hustle, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, took to social media over the weekend to share a glimpse of his laid-back farming activities. The Adamawa-born politician, who faced dismissal from his SGF position in 2017, posted a photo from his farm, highlighting the exhaustion from a day's work and playfully turning to the comforting combination of 'Akara' and '5-Alive' juice.
"Stressed on the farm today. Akara and 5-alife to the rescue. I can’t kill myself abeg," Lawal quipped in a Facebook post, offering a candid and relatable moment amid the greenery of farm life.
Earlier in the week, Lawal shared another post, showcasing his enjoyment of life in his village, Kwambla. Expressing contentment, he emphasized the absence of poverty and election rigging in his serene village setting.
This recent insight into Lawal's life echoes his previous statements about finding fulfillment in agriculture. In 2018, Lawal disclosed that his return to farming, following his dismissal as SGF, proved financially rewarding. "I was earning N930,000 monthly as the SGF. Now, with 4,000 hectares under cultivation, I earned close to half a billion naira from my farm proceeds last year," he proudly stated. His diversified ventures also include a developing cattle ranch and a return to IT consultancy.
Lawal, who vigorously campaigned for the Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2023 general election, seems to have found solace and prosperity away from the political limelight. As he continues to navigate the fields of agriculture, politics, and consultancy, his journey becomes a testament to the resilience and adaptability inherent in every twist of life's trajectory.
Stay tuned for more updates on Babachir Lawal's multifaceted pursuits and the unique moments he shares from the heart of his farming escapades.
